Personal growth and renewal often require a willingness to undergo significant change or upheaval, even at the deepest level of one’s being.

Sharing a thought-provoking poem, ‘Renewal from the fall’ by great Rumi, which presents renewal and transformation through the metaphor of various processes that necessitate destruction or alteration in order to create something new and valuable.

The vivid imagery illustrates this idea, drawing parallels between different aspects of life and the necessity of breaking down or deconstructing in order to build anew.

While the poem goes into some aspects of everyday life where destruction or alteration are essential for creating something beneficial and essential, it finally goes into something deeper, preparing the soul for renewal.

The concluding lines emphasize the profound nature of this process, urging the reader to be prepared to ‘desecrate’ their soul in order to be “remade and whole.

Taking inspiration from the poem,

Let’s take cognizance of the fact that the personal transformation requires challenging and uncomfortable processes.

Let’s accept the paradoxical nature of renewal, where the breaking down of the old is necessary for the emergence of the new.

As you are planting new year’s seeds, wishing you great success in your renewal and transformation!
