The concept of family has its roots in human history, dating back to the earliest known civilizations.

Family is not only the identity of each one of us, it is a symbol of the very best that our world offers — Love, Care, Togetherness, Happiness, Harmony, Support, Stability…

Be it the good times, or not so good times, our families have been the biggest and the most important support system for us.

Strong family relationships provide a foundation for emotional well-being, helping us to navigate life’s challenges and transitions.

George Santayana, the great Spanish philosopher, said, “The family is one of nature’s masterpieces”, and we can’t agree more.

As a fundamental unit of human social organization, the evolution of the family has played a significant role in shaping us, our societies and civilizations.

The Family, as an anchor, helps each one of us ‘Be One’ with a group of people, together as a loving and caring entity. The Family facilitates our being connected with and aligned to ‘One Humanity’.

Let us see how ‘Being One’ with the Family helps us and our world:

🩷Co-nurturing love and care

🩷 Emotional space and support

🩷 Meaningful and purposeful life

🩷 Deep relationships and connect

🩷 A sense of identity and belonging

🩷 Transference of culture and traditions

🩷 Preserving the precious heritage and tools

🩷 Passing on precious wisdom and knowledge

🩷 Upholding values and value for a wider world

🩷 The basic unit for cohesiveness in our society

🩷 Foundation for a mutually connected community

The list about the importance of the family for each one of us and for our world is endless. Right from childhood, we owe a big part of our development to our family, to the parenting that we got.

We, each one of us, are drawing so much from the family while contributing our own. Our ‘Being One’ with the family nurtures our happiness, wellbeing, and success.

Shared love and care, mutuality and trust, togetherness and support make the family, our home, to belong to and to come back to.

We long for ‘Being One’ with the family because we draw emotional strength from it; it’s our safe space; it’s our sacred home.

Famous educationist Donna Hedges said it so well,

“Having a place to go is a home.

Having someone to love is a family.

Having both is a blessing.”
